US History Lesson: Canadian Style?

So for Gobble Weekend, my family and I ran across the border to see the Niagra Falls. We were really trying a practice trial for escaping to Canada for the next 4 years. ;) We were galled by the fact that the US called their falls "The American Falls" while Canada called it "The Horseshoe Falls" since it looked like *gasp* a horseshoe!

I was startled by how much American history Canadians and everything on display contained. It reminded me yet again, how self-centered Americans can be when it comes to dealing with the history they learn. We often time learn just the basics in class and to find anything more indepth or further we either have to go to APs. Americans would be much better off by learning more indepth history of the world. I provided a link to Canadian History if anyone is interested.

People could claim that since it was so close to the border, that's why there was so much US history. But I feel that if you went anywhere, it would be about the same. Geography is a great example, most people know about our states and many of the names, but could you as an American name any of the Provinces in China? Past the well know ones, ie Gouzg Dong (Sorry about my Pin Yin, I know it sucks I never learned it ;)

I did like Canda better. Much better shopping...more European depth ;) Perhaps I will move. Till then let us salute this wonderful world, and the even better leadership we have!

Ja ne!

There's something amiss in the rain

So there I was,

Walking home early from marketing, where lo and behold, I run across a family of ducks. Yes, there was the teacher walking along and her little 6 years following her. To my horror....each little child held...yes I know.... *gasp* an adult size umbrella!!

They look similar to squat little mushrooms and I just wanted to bundle them up *snuggle snuggle* They were very very Cute! (or Kawaii for Aaron) But an unfortunate fact remained:

They were top heavy.

What parent in their right mind, would give a child of that size of an umbrella...They looked like they were going to tip over at any moment. Ahh well they were cute.

I took pictures, fortunatly or unfortunatly, you won't get to see my blurry shots b/c blogger does not provide the ability to upload pictures. Yet another amiss...tsk tsk...definatlly lacking.

But I did provide a link for those parents who happen to run across this post and want to buy child size umbrellas....am I not helpful ;)

How to ensure that your children are not top heavy

Welcome to Steviek's mind

Well,

You've done it again. You've run across something you shouldn't have. Me ;)
So this is a class assignment....yes imagine, a class assignment where all I have to do is create a blog. Sigh, if only all classes could be so great.

If you can't tell, this is a test. Now go away.
